Midwest Division

Our Midwest Division focuses its resources in the states of Michigan, Indiana and Ohio. All of the Division’s operations have been in the state of Michigan since its inception.

Completing a Broad Range of Projects, Specializing in Concrete Pavements of All Designs

Since 1983, we have performed work for numerous owners including, DOT, DOD, FAA, Counties, and Cities, and have extensive knowledge of their unique requirements. While specializing in the construction of concrete pavements of all designs, we also have extensive experience in earthwork, minor grading, demolition/removals, treated/untreated bases, RCP, small drainage structures and other miscellaneous concrete related items. Additionally, our Midwest Division has a long history of Design Build work starting in 2009 with the first major design/build/finance project on I-69 in Michigan.

Our Midwest Division has successfully completed a broad range of projects from privately owned, to the most complex urban reconstruction projects in the Michigan highway network. Contract have ranged from $1,500,000 to $90,000,000. We led the way in several innovative contracts with the Michigan DOT including the first five year Material and Workmanship Warranty project, the first use of maturity meters for testing concrete and several Design Build projects. Another area of expertise is high specification airfield work. We have successfully completed numerous FAA and DOD projects at Detroit Metro and Lansing City Airports. While our primary market is Michigan, a working knowledge of the funding and work available in Indiana and Ohio is also maintained.

We have grown from a modest beginning as a small shoulder paving and flatwork subcontractor in Michigan in 1947, into one of the nation's foremost leaders in the concrete paving industry. Our Midwest Division proudly carries the banner as the "roots" of our company and carefully nurtures and improves upon a tradition of quality and on-time service to our customers. This IHC team is ready to serve your needs with substantial experience in construction management, whether it is new construction or reconstruction.
